Team Vodafone in the V8 Supercars Championship
After claiming third in the first leg of the Clipsal 500, TeamVodafone experienced the highs and lows of motor racing with a series of small errors hampering the overall results for drivers Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes at the conclusion to Round 1 of the 2007 V8 Supercar Championship Series in Adelaide, SA.
Whincup finished the final 250km leg of the Clipsal 500 in fifth place after a longer than usual pitstop saw him drop five positions after the compulsory stop. The 24 year old put his head down and pushed hard to reclaim positions but was unable to get past fellow Ford drivers Russell Ingall and James Courtney as the three battled through the final laps of the race.
Team mate Craig Lowndes encountered his own difficulties when on lap 19 of the race he was forced up an escape road to avoid locking and destroying his front right hand tyre.
Lowndes dropped to 23rd and worked hard to bring his TeamVodafone Ford Falcon BF back to 13th and remain in the points
