The weather forecast was against the good crowds and the "Biante Babes"
grid girls that turned out for a weekend of exciting motor sport at the
HPDC V8 Supercar series at Mallala S.A. With the usual battles at the leading end
between the likes of Stubber, Mason, Trellor in there beautifully
presented comaro's and the beautiful GT HO Ford of Brad Tilley always on
the back of Stubber with the peppering of Mustangs of Travica, Jarrett,
Hill and Punchon all racing in the pack with the Toranas of Margett,
Team Williams, Talbot and the Trellor Roses Valiant Charger driven by
Les Wlmsley, the only position that didn't change was the lead, every
other position was up for grabs and with the onset of rain, no one was
challenging the elements making the racing eventful. The hard charging
Hunter in his HQ having major brake failure in the last event and
taking out the XU1 Torana of Trevor Talbot in a unfortunate racing
incident. Paul Stubber Took home the trophy for the class and the
"Biante Model" Torana trophy with Brad Tilley's Second earning the
trophy and Alf Bargwanna third and winning driver of the meeting. Scott
Fleming in the Gilfillan Lotus Cortina once again drove home the
silverware from Stuart Barnes, all presentations were made by Mr. Glenn
Dix back in his element with the black and white checks of the "Biante
Babes" Sally and Kylie who also did a marvellous job of helping promote
the "Biante" series over the weekend.
